Balanced Website Construction

July 13, 2007 – 12:33 pm

We don’t hear the term balance too often when it comes to building websites, but I think it’s worth mentioning. You need balance in all areas of you life, so how can constructing a website be any different? Most people tend towards an imbalanced approach. They either spend most of their time on link-building, or they spend all day pumping out content. Their purposes might be better served by adding dimensions to their attack.

What areas can you look at improving on a website:

  • Marketing efforts
  • Website design
  • Navigation
  • Content creation
  • Link Building
  • Customer contact

This is just for starters. And each of these disciplines can be improved upon, according to the talent and experience of the webmaster. So, if you find yourself unsure of what to do to improve on one of your websites, maybe it’s time to try something different.

What other areas can you think of that need work?
