Blogs Need A Lot Of Work To Succeed

It’s a great idea to add a blog to your website, but it’s also a ton of work. Over time, your priorities tend to change, so you might not be as motivated as you used to be when it comes time to post. If your blog dies off at that point, you’ll end up feeling like you wasted time. This happens every day all around the internet. I can’t say how often, because Technorati only shows the launches and not deaths of blogs. But I’m sure the number is sky-high.

The biggest reason a blog dies off is because they tend to be a ton of extra work. You can’t just set and forget a blog. Blogs are more like pets, you have to give them attention every day, no matter how annoyed you may be at the prospect. If you don’t pay attention, your blog will become unruly and filled with weeds, like any neglected garden!

So if you have a blog you’ve been ignoring, I suggest you dust it off today and hit with some fresh posts and a new design. Perhaps you can musted up the enthusiam to continue blogging with some motivation. The reasons you started the blog in the first place are all still valid.
