Expedia Extends To India

Expedia recently announced that they have entered into serving the travel market in India. This is the seventeenth Expedia branded website that provides smart solutions
for booking airfare, hotel accommodations, car rentals and other travel related services.

“As the number of Indians traveling abroad continues to grow, the strength of Expedia’s international supply gives us an advantage over existing travel providers in the market,” said Sharat Dhall, managing director, Expedia India. “We aim to be the International travel expert for
Indians, who can now travel the world with confidence with Expedia.co.in.”

Expedia.co.in will offer a global selection of around 80,000 hotels and 3,000 attractions. Payment is made through Indian Rupees and customer service representatives speak both Hindi and English, making it easier to communicate.

The website is taking reservations now.

Welcome Hexapus

I’ve always maintained that there are millions of living creatures that humans don’t know about – especially when it comes to life forms under water. The Hexapus is one of these creatures that’s just been found.

The hexapus, now known as “Henry” was born with six legs instead of eight. It’s believed it is a birth defect. Henry was pulled up in a lobster trap on the Wales coast about two weeks ago.

Henry the hexapus was picked up by the Blackpool Sea Life Centre in England.

It’s another great addition to science only time will tell if there are more to be found..

Alexander Graham Bell – Happy Birthday!

If Alexander Graham were alive today, he’d be celebrating his 161st birthday.

Alexander Graham Bell is best known for his invention of the telephone. He was also known as “Father of the deaf.” Both Graham’s mother and wife were both deaf.

Bell was an inventor, scientist and innovator.

When you hear the familiar ring today, be sure to thank Mr. Bell for his great invention – the phone.

Dominican Republic Independence Day

Today the Dominican Republic celebrates their Independence from Haiti. This is the 164th year they’ve been free.

Juan Pablo Duarte, Ramón Matías Mella and Francisco del Rosario Sánchez announced an independent ‘República Dominicana’ on February 27, 1844.

Today is a day of celebration in the DR. There are a number of parades and festivities taking place throughout this lush country. Catholic churches celebrate with masses and baseball will be enjoyed by everyone.

Happy Independence Day, Dominican Republic!

Hotmail Issues

It’s a worldwide outage for Hotmail as millions are having difficulty logging into their Hotmail accounts. People have reported Hotmail service unavailable messages since early today.

“We’re having some sporadic issues with the Windows Live login,” a Microsoft rep has stated. “We’ll be working as fast as possible to get up and running.”

That’s good news for the beleaguered users who are suffering from Hotmail being down. Hopefully the Hotmail problems will be over soon.

Hotmail Service Unavailable

What’s wrong with Hotmail? A quick visit to the website found their Service Unavailable.

I went to check my own mail and got this:

There is no word on what the Hotmail issue is or a status on when it might come back online. Hopefully the Hotmail.com sign in will be available again soon.
