Fox Has Filed A Subpoena Against Youtube

January 25, 2007 – 5:40 pm

Fox has filed a subpoena in an effort to learn the identity of a Youtube contributor that has been uploading episodes of “24″ and “The Simpson’s.”

Fox is looking to stop his infringing activity, but Google stays pretty tight lipped about the identity of their users. Google is responsive in taking down infringed content at Youtube at the copyright owner’s request, however Youtube requires very little information to join and participate atthe site. The only required information is an Email address and good luck with that one.

Do you think Fox should pursue this or be content that the episodes were removed?
