Getting Your Content Indexed In Google
In the old days (last year and before), Google used to be pretty quick about adding new content into their index. That’s no longer the case. In fact, you can expect to wait much longer than you planned on. Google isn’t easily fooled by low quality content. In fact, they appear to only accept pages after much trouble.
The main things you need to get your pages indexed in Google
1) Sufficient incoming links
2) A site structure that web crawlers understand
You can’t just assume that Google will immediatedly understand your website’s structure. Chances are high that they won’t. That’s why it’s a good idea to add a local and Google sitemap. Give them as much information as you can, or deep interior pages may never get crawled. This didn’t use to matter as much as it currently does, but there’s no avoiding it anymore.
You can’t take Google indexing for granted
Google used to be out to spider and index all websites, but in recent months they’ve take a turn towards being much more exclusive. It’s up to you to make sure your website gets in. The key way to do this is to build a website that attracts natural incoming links. If you can, you’ll have no problem getting in. If you have trouble acquiring links, you may also experience problems being indexed.
