Google Adds Search for the Visually Impaired

August 18, 2006 – 10:14 am

Google always has something brewing up in their labs.

The latest is a “mini” search engine for people that are visually impaired. Google identifies and categorizes results that are easily usable by blind or visually impaired surfers. Pages that have very few graphics and load well with images turned off are likely to be served as results.

Making your website friendly to the visually impaired will expand your audience, so don’t overlook it.
