Google Sees Free Cell Phones In The Future

November 13, 2006 – 7:50 pm

Google always has a different way of viewing things as it concerns the world and now how the world communicates. They believe that cell phones should be free. Eric Schmidt, president of search giant Google had this to say:

“Your mobile phone should be free,” Schmidt told Reuters. “It just makes sense that subsidies should increase” as advertising rises on mobile phones.

Is Google going Ultra Mobile?

The way it would work is consumers that agreed to view targeted advertising would get free cell phones. Schmidt didn’t have any immediate plans for his company to give away cell phones and said that he didn’t know of any cell phone manufacturers that were planning on offering free phones.

I guess time will tell if free cell phones become a reality. What are your thoughts on this idea..Would you use a free cell phone provided by Google?
