April 12, 2007 – 12:51 pm

It was recently announced that Google is planning on opening an operations center in Wroclaw, Poland later this year. The addition of this operation center is expected to bring 200 jobs to the area.

“With Google, we can practically be attractive for any large company that is in the innovation sector, because they always go in herds,” said Pawel Panczyj, who heads an office that promotes foreign investment in Wroclaw.

The city of Wroclaw has already attracted a number of foreign investments from companies like Hewlett-Packard, GE and Nokia Corporation. Google chose the location for reasons that include “the availability of highly qualified graduates, the country’s economic stability and strong infrastructure.”

Are you surprised at how quickly Google is setting up shop in other countries?
