Google To Overlay YouTube Videos In Google Earth

October 15, 2007 – 11:53 am

If you’re into doing “online travel” via Google Earth, the addition of Youtube videos should enhance your experience by providing related videos of the area in which you’re checking out.

The YouTube layer is available in the Featured Content folder of Google Earth.

Google said that the integration offers a new way to experience destinations as seen through the eyes of YouTube users who have visited them.

The new service enables people to watch, hear and feel what is happening in locations they may never have otherwise visited.

This means that if you’re looking at a location in the Bahamas, for instance, it you could see videos of people fishing, snorkeling or taking part in other activities in the area.

This feature is now available inside of Google Earth.
