Google, Yahoo, And MSN Settle Gambling Accusations

January 22, 2008 – 9:36 am

Google, Yahoo, and MSN took money from gambling advertisers for 10 years, according to a recent settlement the companies have hammered out with the U.S. Justice Department.

On Wednesday, the Justice Department said Microsoft Corp, Google Inc and Yahoo Inc agreed to a settlement worth $31.5 million to resolve accusations they received money from online gambling businesses to advertise illegal betting from 1997 through 2007.

Looking at that number, one can’t help thinking the companies took in a lot more than that in a decade. Seems they got off relatively easy.
