Microsoft Takes ‘Live’ Search Out Of Beta

September 13, 2006 – 1:40 pm

It’s been a while since Microsoft has made a big move in search.

And with search being all the rage these days, it’s about time!

On Monday the software giant took Window’s Live out of Beta and it’s now a default search.

Live has a very familiar look and feel to it, and offers searches from the web, news, images, and offers users tools like favorites, local, a safety center, and even shopping. I ran a few perfunctory searches and found them to be about in line with results with competing engines
Yahoo, Google and even Ask.com

Live looks like it could be a promising new way to search and I guess the days ahead (and my log files) will tell the broader truth.

Have you used Live search yet? I’d love to hear your feedback on it..
