MySpace And Ebay In Partnership Talks

February 7, 2007 – 12:34 pm

It was recently announced that MySpace has been talking with Ebay for a possible partnership to allow members to buy and sell merchandise using their Myspace profile with payment processing done through Paypal.

Myspace has been in talks with Google to provide search technology and carry advertising brokered by the search engine, but no agreement has been finalized as of this date. Myspace doesn’t want to restrict the number of web companies they can do business with.

Google offers a competing listing and checkout service, so I doubt that they’ll be happy to hear that Myspace is in talks with Ebay, but it isn’t expected to derail their deal. Even if Myspace inks a deal with Ebay, it most certainly won’t interfere with Google serving up advertising and search results. Plenty of websites already do.

Would you buy and sell products off of Myspace?

    3. Paypal and Ebay have been serving up commerce for a long time now.

It seems that Google is trying to intrude on just about everyones business model, when they should just be doing advertising..
