MySpace To Enter Into The Political Arena

April 25, 2007 – 5:15 pm

The latest announcement from Myspace is looking to change the way politics are done.

Myspace is launching a new political reality show called “Independant” and will offer a 1 million dollar cash prize that the winner doesn’t get to keep. Instead the winner will get to use the money for a political campaign or given to a political action committee or cause.

Users must submit a video clip and other users will vote on them. Myspace will also be used as participants ‘campaign headquarters.’

“Through this new network television series and the partnership of MySpace, we’re going to discover in a big way what America really thinks, and bring to light the issues that are closest to those who now finally have a chance to be heard,” Burnett said.

The show hasn’t signed a network but is expected to launch in early 2008.

Would you tune into this new media political show?
