Yahoo and HP Team Up For More Search

The battle for search wages on and Yahoo isn’t conceding they’ve lost the search engine war just yet.

On Thursday Yahoo announced that they were teaming up with Hewlett-Packard to put their search engine on millions of laptop and desktop computers.

Under this agreement, HP will place Yahoo’s search engine in the toolbar of of Microsoft’s popular Internet Explorer 7. Yahoo believes that they can generate more advertising dollars through search requests. This is similiar to an agreement that Google has with Dell Computer for quick access to Google search.

Yahoo is the most popular web portal destination, but their search market hasn’t had significant growth and has held steady with about 29% market share, as opposed to Google’s 44%.

No details were given on the price of this deal.

Which search engine do you prefer? Would you switch to one exclusive search engine?
