Yahoo Co-Founder Donates 75 Million Dollars To Stanford

February 19, 2007 – 7:45 pm

Yahoo Co-founder Jerry Yang and his wife just announced that they are donating 75 million dollars to Stanford University.

Associated Press reported that Stanford plans to use $50 million of the donation for a new environmental studies center it hopes to finish by December, and $5 million for a 120,000-square-foot center for training doctors. It hasn’t decided yet how to spend the rest.
Yang and his wife, Akiko Yamazaki, met in 1992 while studying at a Stanford program in Japan.

It’s nice to see some of the great wealth this company has built being donated to help educate tomorrows medical professionals and further mankind.

    2. I agree its a great thing when financially-successful people donate some of their wealth in ways that can enable other people to benefit. This is a great story.
